Two sought in robbery of care facility manager

PASADENA – Two men, one of them armed with a revolver, are at large after robbing a residential care facility manager of $16,000 Monday afternoon in the 1400 block of North Garfield Avenue.

The victim, who is the resident manager at the location, routinely cashes checks for residents and brings back cash to distribute to the residents, police said in a release.

When he returned after cashing the checks, the first suspect “immediately pointed the gun at his head and demanded his money,” the statement said. “The victim gave the suspect all his money.”

The first suspect was then joined by a second and they ran north on Garfield Avenue and out of sight, according to the statement.

The first suspect is described as a male black teenager, about 160 pounds, who was wearing a green hoodie and black jeans. The second suspect is a male although no further description was available.

Although officers conducted an extensive search of the area, they did not locate the suspects, the statement said.
