UPDATED: Pasadena man seriously wounded in stabbing

PASADENA — A Pasadena man was hospitalized in “serious but stable” condition after he was stabbed in the chest early Friday in a residential neighborhood, police said.
David Rhone, 49, of Pasadena turned himself in at the Pasadena Police Department shortly after the incident and was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapopn, Pasadena police Lt. Diego Torres said.
The attack took place about 4 a.m. in the 100 block of Claremont Street, just west of Fair Oaks Avenue, Torres said.
The victim, a man in his mid-40s, suffered a single stab wound to his chest, the lieutenant said.
The victim’s medical condition limited police investigators’ contact with him in the hours following the stabbing, the lieutenant said.
It initially appeared that the assailant may have been an acquaintance of the wounded man, he said, however the circumstances of the incident remained under investigation.
Officers recovered a 4- to 5-inch-long knife they believed to have been used in the stabbing at the scene, Torres added.
