Pico Rivera shoe store employee stabbed during robbery

PICO RIVERA — A man stabbed a shoe store employee during a robbery Saturday, authorities said.
The crime took place shortly before 1 p.m. at a shoe store in the 9300 block of Washington Boulevard, just west of Passons Boulevard, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Debbie Gallego said.
The attacker, described as a white man between 18 and 22 years old, was in the process of trying to rob the store when he slashed the arm of a young man who worked there, the sergeant said.
The employee was taken to a hospital but expected to be OK, she added.
The knife-wielding robber escaped, Gallego said. It was not immediately clear what, if anything, was taken.
