Three stabbed in Pomona; suspect found hiding with gunshot wound

POMONA — Police arrested a man found hiding with a gunshot wound to his arm on suspicion of stabbing three other men late Saturday, officials said.
Ruben Campos, 39, of Pomona was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Pomona police Lt. Chuck Becker said in a written statement.
Police responded about 8:35 p.m. to a report of a “fight in progress with shots fired” in the 700 block of Erie Street, between Holt and Orange Grove avenues, Becker said.
Officers found three men suffering from stab wounds, he said. The victims, two Pomona men in their 20s and one in his late 40s, appeared to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
“A search in the area revealed (Campos) hiding in a rear yard in the 1600 block of W. Orange Grove Ave,” the statement said. “He was taken into custody and the weapon was located. At the time of arrest, he was found to have been shot in the arm.”
The circumstances of what took place remained under investigation Sunday, and it was not clear how the stabbing suspect was shot, Becker said.
Anyone with information was asked to call Pomona police detectives at 909-622-2095, or the Pomona Police Department at 909-620-1241.
