A woman in her early 20s showed up at a hospital about noon with a laceration to her neck, as well as a cut to her hand, the lieutenant said. The wounds were not believed to be life-threatening.
Investigation revealed the woman had been slashed by her 27-year-old boyfriend, a 27-year-old boyfriend at a home in the 12100 block of Beaty Avenue, he said.
The man, whose name was not immediately available, was booked on suspicion of domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon, Johnson said.
According to booking records, Ruiz was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail pending a scheduled arraignment Wednesday in Bellflower Superior Court.
