West Covina police plan sobriety, driver’s license checkpoint

WEST COVINA — Police are planning a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint Friday.
The checkpoint will be held from 6 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location within the city, West Covina police officials said in a written statement.
“Checkpoints are planned in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public,” according to the statement.
The checkpoint is being funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
