Motorcyclist arrested after chase from West Covina to La Puente

A man drove recklessly and at high speed as he fled from West Covina police late Thursday, but was ultimately apprehended at his home in La Puente, authorities said.
Octavio Osorio, 30, was booked on suspicion of felony evading of police and driving a motorcycle without a motorcycle license, West Covina police Lt. Pat Benschop said.
The chase began just before 10 p.m. when an officer tried to pull Osorio over on a street-type motorcycle, but he fled at high speed instead, the lieutenant said.
Police lost sight of the motorcycle as it sped through the city, but an officer spotted Osorio ditch the bike at an apartment building in the 15000 block of West Francisquito Avenue in La Puente, Benschop said.
Officials determined that Osorio lived in one of the nearby apartments and arrested him there without further incident, he added.
Osorio was being held in lieu of $75,000 bail pending his initial court appearance, according to county booking records.
