NORWALK — A man is expected to survive after being found stabbed in the neck in the driveway of an apartment building early Friday, authorities said.

A passerby called 9-1-1 about 8:25 a.m. after finding the wounded lying wounded on the ground along Imperial Highway, just east of Studebaker Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Mendoza said.

Rescuers rushed the man to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and was expected to survive, the sergeant said. He was estimated to be in his late-30s or early-40s.

The circumstances of the stabbing remained a mystery Friday afternoon, as the man’s injuries prevented investigators from getting a statement from him, Mendoza said.
