Elderly Baldwin Park woman killed by hit-and-run driver in Irwindale identified

IRWINDALE — Authorities Saturday released the name of an 80-year-old Baldwin Park woman who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing Live Oak Avenue in Irwindale.
Cu Lee Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck just before 6 a.m. Friday in a crosswalk spanning Live Oak Avenue at Stewart Avenue, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Lt. Larry Dietz said.
Police continued seeking the silver, early-2000s-model Toyota that fled the scene after striking and killing Nguyen. The car had front-end damage including a smashed windshield. No description of the driver was available.
