Inmate sought after escape from Azusa fire camp

AZUSA —  California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation officials are searching for a minimum-security inmate who walked away from the Julius Klein Conservation Camp in Azusa on Tuesday night.
Officials say Jeremy Ruano, 23, was last seen at 8 p.m. Tuesday. He is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-8, 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Ruano is serving a six-year sentence for assault with force and great bodily injury. He was scheduled for parole in June 2013.
Anyone with information about Ruano’s whereabouts is asked to call the conservation camp at 626-910-1213 or the Sierra Conservation Center watch commander at 209-984-5291, ext. 5439.
