Prowler arrested as women, children hide inside West Covina home

WEST COVINA — A 29-year-old Baldwin Park resident is being held Wednesday on $50,000 bail after being booked on charges of burglary and possession of methamphetamine.
West Covina police officers were responding to a call of an attempted entry from the back door of a home in the 900 block of West Lucille when they received a second 9-1-1 call from a nearby residence, according to Officer Rudy Lopez.
The victims, two women ages 60 and 38, a 15-year-old girl, a year-old child and 6-month-old infant, had locked themselves in a back bedroom and were reporting that a man had broken into their home and was still inside, Lopez said.
Officers entered the residence and took Alfredo Garcia into custody without incident. None of the victims were injured, officials reported.
The suspect had previously attempted to gain entry into two other locations, Lopez said.
