Man and woman arrested in Pomona following Pasadena robbery

PASADENA — Police tracked two robbers to Pomona Friday after they robbed a man and woman in a shopping center parking lot in Pasadena, authorities said.
Israel Sanchez, 32, of Pasadena and Ruby Gallock, 29, of Pomona were booked on suspicion of robbery in connection with the 4:15 p.m. crime in the 300 block of South Mentor Avenue, according to Pasadena police officials and county booking records.
A man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s — both Pasadena residents — were approached by a man who pointed a gun at them and demanded money, Pasadena police Lt. Diego Torres said.
The couple handed over items including a cell phone, camera and purse before the robber got into a Honda Civic being driven by a second person, the lieutenant said.
A witness managed to get the license plate number of the car, which was registered in Pomona, police said.
Pomona police were alerted and pulled over the Honda later in the evening, Torres said.
“The weapon, which turned out to be BB gun, was recovered,” Torres said. Items stolen from the robbery victims in Pasadena were found inside the suspects’ car.
According to county booking records, Sanchez was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail pending his initial court appearance, while Gallock was being held without bail.
