Car struck by gunfire in Altadena

A car was struck by gunfire in a shooting Thursday morning, though the a man inside escaped injury, officials said.
Deputies responded to reports of gunfire just after 9 a.m. in the area of Harriet Street, west of Lincoln Avenue, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Debra Herman said.
They found a car in the 300 block of West Mendocino Street that had been struck multiple times by gunfire, officials said. The man driving the car was not injured.
The shooter was initially described only as a black man, last seen fleeing the area in dark-colored, small SUV — possibly a Nissan Cube.
