Man accused possessing stolen goods, marijuana

PASADENA — Sheriff’s deputies taking part in extra crime suppression patrols arrested a Pasadena man on suspicion of possession of stolen property — including handguns — as well as possession of marijuana for sale, authorities said.
Christopher Calloway, 21, was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. after deputies assigned to assist with extra saturation patrols in the Altadena area encountered him in the 100 block of West Washington Boulevard in Pasadena, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.
After initially contacting Calloway, “the deputies’ investigation led them to a nearby apartment,” according to the statement.
After obtaining a search warrant, deputies discovered allegedly stolen items including handguns, laptop computers, collectible U.S. currency and a flat screen television, officials said.
Deputies also recovered a “large amount” of marijuana, though officials did not say how much. The number of guns seized was also not released.
According to police and county booking records, Calloway was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail pending a scheduled arraignment Tuesday in Pasadena Superior Court.
