5-year-old girl apparently chokes to death in Arcadia

ARCADIA – A 5-year-old girl died Thursday, apparently after choking on strawberries, according to Arcadia Police.
Athena To died at Huntington Hospital in Arcadia less than an hour after the incident, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Chief of Operations Craig Harvey said.
Officers responded to a home in the 500 block of South First Avenue at 4 p.m. and began CPR on the child, who was not breathing, according to Arcadia Police Sgt. Dan Crowther.
The girl was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m., officials said.
No foul play is suspected, Crowther said.
An autopsy was pending, Harvey said.
