Shots fired through apartment window in Pasadena

PASADENA — A man escaped injury early New Year’s Day when two men opened fire through the window of an apartment he was standing in, police said.
The shooting was reported about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East Mountain Street, Pasadena police Lt. Rick Aversano said.
Witnesses indicated a man in his early 20s was standing near the window of an upstairs apartment when two other young men opened fire with a handgun, the lieutenant said.
Bullets shattered the window, but the man inside the apartment was not struck, he said.
The attackers were initially described only as young Latino men between 16 and 19 years old, Aversano said.
The investigation was ongoing.
