Man killed in Norwalk shooting identified

NORWALK — Coroner’s officials have released the name of a 32-year-old man who was fatally shot Wednesday.
Jimmy Hernandez Deleon died at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood about two hours after the 4 a.m. shooting, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winter said. His city of residence was not available.
The shooting occurred in the 14000 block of Gard Avenue, however it was first discovered when Deleon arrived at an area emergency room, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said.
He was transferred to St. Francis where he was pronounced dead just after 6 a.m., Winter said.
The circumstances of the shooting were not clear, and a suspect description was not available.
