Arcadia man shoots own finger in gun cleaning accident

ARCADIA — A man shot his left index finger Wednesday when he reached for a gun and accidentally hit the trigger, police said.
Arcadia Police Lt. Mike Castro said the man’s finger was intact. The 55-year-old resident was taken to a local hospital, Castro added.
The accidental shooting in the 900 block of Fallen Leaf Road was reported to police at 10:12 p.m.
Castro said the man was going to clean the gun and didn’t know it was loaded.
The weapon was on a shelf, he said.
