Man accused of recklessly firing gun in Old Town Pasadena

PASADENA — Police arrested a Glendale man early Saturday on suspicion of recklessly firing a handgun in Old Town Pasadena.
Paul Engle, 23, was arrested several hours after the 1 a.m. incident at Fair Oaks Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena Police Lt. Diego Torres said.
He’s accused of firing a handgun into the air while standing in the roadway, the lieutenant said. It was not clear why the single shot was fired, or what Engle was doing in the area.
Police looking into the incident identified Engle as a suspect and arrested him at his home in Glendale, Torres said. The gun was not found.
He was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail pending his initial court appearance, according to county booking records
Saturday was not Engle’s first time in a jail cell in this week.
He was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of a misdemeanor by the California Highway Patrol about 3:30 Tuesday and released later in the morning after posting $15,000 bail, records show. Further information regarding Engle’s previous arrest were not available Saturday.
