Pasadena cops to wait tables for Special Olympics

PASADENA — Police officers will take up serving trays this week to raise money for the Special Olympics during a “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser.
The benefit will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hamburger Hamlet, 214 S. Lake Avenue, Pasadena police officials said in a written statement.
The officers will serve as waiters and waitresses, and all the tips they collect will be donated to the Special Olympics.
“The Special Olympics have been transforming the lives of athletes with disabilities for years,” Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez said. “Through the program’s efforts, participants share the joy, pride and courage of participation. We are proud to support this cause.”
