Major collision shuts down eastbound 134 Freeway in Pasadena

PASADENA — A multi-vehicle wreck injured several people and blocked the eastbound 134 Freeway for hours Sunday, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 6:45 p.m. near Orange Grove Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Tatiana Sauquillo said.
According to initial reports, “One of the vehicles caught fire with people trapped inside,” she said.
The collision involved as many as four vehicles, one of which rolled over several times, Sauquillo said.
The number of people hurt and the extent of their injuries was not available.
The entire eastbound side of the freeway was initially shut down after the crash.
Officials reopened the right-hand lane of the freeway about 7:30 p.m., Sauquillo said, but the remainder of the eastbound freeway, as well as the Glendale (2) Freeway transition road to the eastbound 134 Freeway remained shut down until about 9:30 p.m.
