Home and car struck by gunfire in West Whittier drive-by shooting

WEST WHITTIER — A man in a silver-colored car fired several shots at a residence Thursday night, hitting a window and an empty car.
There were no injuries reported in the 9 p.m. shooting in the 8300 block of Summerfield Avenue, in an unincorporated county area west of Whittier, according to sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Meyer.
Deputies headed to the area on a shots fired call. Witnesses saw someone in a silver Nissan Altima fire approximately six rounds toward a residence, Meyer said.
One round hit a living room window and four struck an unoccupied car, he added.
Deputies recovered six shell casings.
Meyer said there were three men in the Altima which has tinted windows. There were no further descriptions of the suspects.
