Woman, teens hurt when big rig strikes car on Whittier Boulevard in Whittier

WHITTIER — A big rig rear-ended a sedan on Whittier Boulevard early Thursday, sending a woman and two high school students to the hospital, officials said.
The woman was driving her children to school about 7:10 a.m. when the big rig struck her Toyota Camry from behind near Glengarry Avenue, Whittier police Sgt. Greg Hamilton said.
All three occupants of the Camry were taken to a hospital for treatment, he said. The exact extent of the injuries was not clear, however they were not believed to be severe.
No citations or arrests were made at the scene, Hamilton said.
