Police plan checkpoint in Pasadena

PASADENA — Police have announced plans to hold a sobriety and driver’s license checkpoint Friday.
The checkpoint will take place between 7 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location within Pasadena, Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said in a written statement.
“Research shows that crashes involving alcohol drop by an average of 20 percent when well-publicized checkpoints are conducted often enough,” Hettema said.
Funding for the checkpoint is being provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
