Two accused of breaking into Pasadena home during fumigation

PASADENA — Police arrested two men early Friday on suspicion of breaking into a house that was being fumigated, officials said.
Melquiadez Chaidez and Adrian Barrios, both 18 and from Pasadena, were booked on suspicion of burglary following their 12:30 a.m. arrests at Carlton and Manzanita avenues, Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson said.
Officers responded to a report of two suspicions people when they encountered Chaidez and Barrios, the lieutenant said. Officers soon found they were in possession of a credit card in someone else’s name.
Upon visiting the home of the person named on the credit card in the 100 block of North Harkness Avenue, officers discovered the home was tented for fumigation, Clawson said.
“They found a tear in the tent,” Clawson said. “One of the windows had been forced open.”
It was unclear Friday what, if any, other items were missing from the burglarized home. The time of the alleged break-in was also unclear.
According to county booking records, Chaidez and Barrios were being held in lieu of $50,000 bail pending their initial court appearances.
