Man fatally shot in Norwalk

NORWALK — A man died early Thursday he was wounded in a shooting in a residential neighborhood, officials said.
The identity of the victim was not release Thursday. Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials initially described him only as a man.
The shooting was first reported just before 1 a.m., Deputy Lillian Peck of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau said in a written statement.
“Several gunshots were heard in the area of the 11500 Angell Street,” Peck said. “When deputies arrived, they discovered the victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso.”
Paramedics took the man to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries a short time later, officials said.
The circumstances of the shooting were unavailable, and no suspect description was released.
