Homeless man robbed at gunpoint in Baldwin Park

BALDWIN PARK — A transient robbed another homeless man of his money and bicycle at gunpoint earlier this week in a wash area along the San Gabriel River, authorities said.
The crime took place about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the wash adjacent to the 400 block of Cloverleaf Drive, just south of the 10 Freeway, Baldwin Park police Sgt. Mike Hemenway said. But the crime was not reported to police until Wednesday.
A man in his 50s, was approached by a second man who brandished a small revolver and demanded his property, the sergeant said.
The victim turned over about $200 in cash and his bicycle, Hemenway said. The robber fled, and the victim was not injured.
Police described the gunman as a Latino man between 40 and 45 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and between 160 and 175 pounds. He was believed to be a transient.
