Man accused of robbing woman at bus stop in front of Pasadena City College

PASADENA — A Pasadena man robbed a young woman of her purse Thursday as she sat at a bus stop in front Pasadena City College, police said.
Joseph Kakish, 28, was booked on suspicion of robbery following the 10:40 a.m. purse snatching along Colorado Boulevard at Sierra Bonita Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson said.
A 19-year-old Rosemead woman was waiting at a bus stop when a robber — later identified as Kakish — walked up and grabbed her purse, the lieutenant said.
“A struggle ensued over the purse, but the suspect was able to snatch it.,” Clawson said. He then fled north on Marion Avenue.
Officers spotted Kakish as he was walking into Tops Burgers at Walnut Street and Allen Avenue and arrested him.
A witness reported seeing him discard the purse nearby, and officers recovered it, Clawson added.
County booking records indicated Kakish was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail pending his initial court appearance.
