Man attacked, robbed inside Pasadena business

PASADENA – A man was attacked and robbed early Thursday while sleeping inside a Walnut Street business, authorities said.
A 62-year-old man was sleeping just before 4 a.m. inside a carpet business in the 1700 block of E. Walnut Street when he was awakened by noises, Pasadena police lieutenant Jason Clawson said.
“He went to check on the noises and was confronted by a subject who demanded money,” Clawson said. “The victim told the suspect he didn’t have any money. The suspect assaulted the victim.”
After a brief fistfight, the intruder fled, taking the victim’s bicycle as he went, the lieutenant said. He was last seen headed south on Bonnie Avenue.
The victim suffered apparently minor injuries and refused medical treatment, he added.
Police described the robber as a black man, about 55 years old, 250 pounds and wearing a beanie.
