Whittier police plan ‘Coffee With a Cop’ event

WHITTIER — Whittier police are inviting the community to meet with officers over coffee Wednesday at the department’s first “Coffee With a Cop” event.
The meeting will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Panera Bread in the Whittwood Town Center, 15620 Whittwood Lane, Whittier police officials said in a written statement. And the coffee will be free.
“This program is designed to help law enforcement agencies connect with the community they serve and protect,” according to the police statement. “During the event, citizens will have an opportunity to meet with officers and ask questions or express their concerns over a friendly cup of coffee.”
Police plan to continue holding similar meetings four times annually, Whittier police Officer Bradley White said.
