Caltech student robbed near campus

PASADENA — Two men robbed a Caltech student of his laptop, iPhone and wallet late Wednesday as he walked just outside the campus, officials said.
The victim, a 22-year-old Pasadena man, was walking about 10:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South Wilson Avenue when he was attacked, Pasadena police Lt. Tom Delgado said.
“The victim was walking to his dorm and was approached from behind by the suspects,” the lieutenant said. “(One of the robbers) choked the victim and held his hands over the victims mouth.”
Them men the wrestled away the victim’s laptop bag, which contained a MacBook computer and an iPhone 5, Delgado said. They also pulled the victim’s wallet from his pocket before fleeing west on San Pasqual Street on foot, he said. The victim did not require medical treatment.
Police described one of the robbers as a black man, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, 150 pounds, bald, wearing a dark T-shirt, long shorts and white socks. The second robber was described as black man, about 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt.
