Suspect jailed in Pasadena auto burglary

PASADENA — Police jailed a Pasadena man early Saturday after he broke into a woman’s car, stealing an iPad and various other electronics, officials said.
Jose Solis, 34, of Pasadena was suspected of burglary following the 2 a.m. crime in the 800 block of North Wilson Avenue, according to Pasadena police officials and Los Angeles County booking records.
A 26-year-old woman called police to report her car had just been burglarized, and the thief was walking south on Wilson Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson said.
“A police officer saw the suspect. He was detained without incident,” Clawson said. He was found to be in possession of an iPad and other electronic devices stolen from the woman’s car.
Clawson reminded residents not to leave valuables in their cars, especially overnight, as it may create temptations for opportunistic car burglars.
Solis was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail pending his initial court appearance, according to booking records.
