Man fatally struck by big rig in Pico Rivera

PICO RIVERA — A man died Friday after he was struck by a big rig while walking across Slauson Avenue in Pico Rivera, authorities said.
The dead man’s identity was not immiately known, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Meyer said. He was described as a Latino man between 20 and 30 years old.
The collision was reported just before 10:30 a.m. along eastbound Slauson Avenue, just east of Bequette Avenue, the lieutenant said.
After finding the man badly injured, paramedics rushed him to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries about 11:15 a.m., Meyer said.
The driver of the big rig remained at the scene and was not cited or arrested as the investigation continued, he said.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the fatal collision were not available Friday.
