Police: Resident shoots at estranged family member trying to force way into Pasadena home

PASADENA >> A person fired a handgun at an estranged family member who kicked in the front door of a house while making threats early Sunday, authorities said.
The man ran away following the gunfire, and it was unclear whether he had been struck in the 5:25 a.m. shooting, Pasadena police Lt. Jason Clawson said.
The family living at the house in the 1500 block of North Hill Avenue was cooperating with investigators, and no arrests were initially made.
A 28-year-old man, whose name was not released, arrived at the home of his estranged family members demanding to be let in, the lieutenant said. But the family refused.
“He started making threats toward the family. He kicked in the door,” Clawson said. “A family member inside fired a handgun at him. He fled after that.”
Officers searched the area bit did not find the man, who was being sought as a criminal threats suspect, Clawson said.
Clawson declined to release further details regarding the incident Sunday as officers continued investigating and seeking the outstanding suspect.
