Police traffic safety crackdown planned Friday in Pasadena

PASADENA — Police will be conducting two separate traffic safety enforcement campaigns Friday, one targeting speeders and the other monitoring intersections with high rates of crashes, officials said.
Extra officers will be on patrol Friday morning looking for speed violators, Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said in a written statement.
Then in the afternoon, police will shift their focus to local intersections known for traffic accidents, Hettema said.
Funding for both operations is being provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
