SOUTH EL MONTE >> The community is invited to a neighborhood watch and safety meeting Thursday.
The meeting, hosted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Miramonte Elementary School, 10620 Schmidt Road, organizers said in a written statement.
“Come out and meet your neighbors and learn crime prevention and safety tips,” the statement said.
There will be light refreshments and giveaways while supplies last.
