Teen accused of carrying loaded, stolen gun in Pasadena

PASADENA >> Police arrested a teen and seized a loaded, stolen gun after officers spotted the young man smoking marijuana walking down Washington Boulevard, officials said.
Two officers patrolling about 10:30 a.m. in the 400 block of West Washington Boulevard saw a young man walking down the street smoking marijuana from a glass pipe, Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman said.
The teen, 17, tried to run when the officers approached but was quickly captured, the lieutenant said. Police found a loaded .22-caliber Deringer-style handgun on his person, he said. Police soon determined the gun had been reported stolen.
Police arrested the teen on suspicion of weapons charges and took him to a juvenile hall, Goodman said.
