Police: Glendora checkpoint nets 1 drunken driver, 46 other citations and arrests


GLENDORA >> Police jailed one alleged drunken driver and arrested or cited 46 other motorists during an overnight checkpoint in Glendora, police said Saturday.
The checkpoint was held from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday on Grand Avenue at Mauna Loa Avenue, Glendora police officials said in a written statement.
A total of 4,769 cars passed through the checkpoint, police said. In addition to the on driver suspected of DUI, police arrested another eight drivers for driving without licenses or with suspended or revoked licenses and two people for “other criminal charges.”
Officers wrote 36 tickets at the checkpoint and impounded 22 vehicles, police said.
