Man critically injured in Pasadena bicycle crash

PASADENA >> A man suffered critical injuries and was rushed into emergency surgery after crashing his bicycle into a parked car in Pasadena Saturday afternoon.
The crash took place about 2:45 p.m. on Allen Avenue, just south of Las Lunas Street, Pasadena police Lt. Jesse Carrillo said.
The cyclist, described as a man in his mid-20s, was wearing a helmet when he struck the rear of a parked car, shattering the rear windshield, the lieutenant said.
But the impact left him with severe head and neck injuries, including cuts from the broken glass, he said.
Paramedics took the badly injured bicyclist to Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, where he was rushed into surgery Saturday afternoon, Carrillo said.
