Man and woman killed after motorcycle collides with car in Pasadena

PASADENA >> A man and woman died Friday night after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a compact car along Lake Avenue in Pasadena, police said.
The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old Monrovia man, and his passenger, a 26-year-old Los Angeles woman, succumbed to their injuries at a hospital shortly after the 8 p.m. at Lake Avenue and Union Street, Pasadena police Lt. Jesse Carrillo said.
The motorcycle was heading south on Lake Avenue prior to the crash, the lieutenant said. A Mini Cooper driven by a 27-year-old Pasadena man was in the process of making a left turn from northbound Lake Avenue onto westbound Union Street.
The car and motorcycle collided in the intersection, Carrillo said.
Paramedics took the badly injured man and woman to Huntington Hospital, where they were soon pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
