Gunman robs Pasadena 7-Eleven

PASADENA >> A masked gunman stole cash and cigarettes in a robbery at a Pasadena convenience store early Wednesday.
The heist was reported about 1:45 a.m. at 7-Eleven, 690 N. Lake Ave., at the corner of Lake Avenue and Orange Grove Boulevard, Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said.
A Los Angeles man in his 50s was working at the store when the robber entered, brandishing a dark-colored, semi-automatic pistol, the lieutenant said.
“He immediately points the gun at the clerk and orders the clerk to give him money,” Mercado said.
The clerk backed away from the counter, and the robber walked around to the register and helped himself to an undetermined amount of cash, he said. The robber also grabbed packs of cigarettes from a rack behind the counter.
The robber was described as a black man, wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, a black hat, tan cargo pants and a mask covering the lower portion of his face, Mercado said. He was last seen fleeing the store on foot.
