Elderly, partially blind Pasadena woman found at park after week missing

PASADENA >> A partially blind 81-year-old woman with psychiatric issues who went missing for a week turned up safe at a Pasadena park early Saturday, police said.
Julie Sanchez left the Garfield Avenue assisted living facility where she lives about noon on March 4 and vanished, Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman said. Officials sought her for a week, to no avail.
A resident spotted Sanchez shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday after spotting her at Washington Park, 700 E. Washington Blvd., and recognizing her as the missing person, Goodman said. Police responded and confirmed the woman was Sanchez.
Though disoriented, Sanchez appeared unharmed and in good health when officers found her, but offered no explanation as to where she had been for the previous seven days, the lieutenant said.
“She couldn’t really tell us where shed’ been,” he said.
