Man beaten, robbed in Whittier


WHITTIER >> Police are seeking four men who beat and robbed another man in Whittier earlier this week, officials said.
The victim was walking about 1 a.m. Wednesday along Painter Avenue and Mar Vista Street when a black Honda containing four men pulled up near him, Whittier police Sgt. Sam Reed said.
Four Latino men, all described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 bounds, with shaved heads, emerged from the car and confronted the victim, demanding his property.
The robbers then beat up the man before fleeing with his backpack, cell phone and wallet, Reed said.
The victim suffered no significant injuries, the sergeant said.
