SOUTH WHITTIER >> Deputies are seeking five young men and a young woman who attacked and stabbed a fellow teen late Friday in the unincorporated county area of South Whittier, officials said.
The attack took place just before midnight along Painter Avenue, near Mulberry Drive, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Sgt. Anthony Fernandez said.
The victim, a teenage boy, was attacked by the group, he said. One of them pulled a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.
Paramedics took the wounded teen to a hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The circumstances and motive in the crime remained under investigation, Fernandez said. A detailed suspect description was not available.
