Two men wounded in Pasadena shooting

PASADENA >> A shooting in a residential neighborhood in northwest Pasadena left two men wounded late Saturday, police said.
Police received “numerous calls of shots fired” about 9:15 p.m. from the 1000 block of North Summit Avenue, just north of Mountain Street, Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said.
“Officers also heard the shots and responded based on hearing the shots,” he said.
Police found no victims or witnesses to the shooting, but recovered spent bullet casings at the shooting scene, the lieutenant said.
A local hospital contacted police a short time later and reported to men had been dropped off at the emergency room with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims, an Azusa man in his late-40s, suffered a gunshot wound to the back, Mercado said. The other victim, a Pasadena man in his early-20s, was shot in the hand.
A detailed suspect description was not available Sunday, nor were further details regarding the circumstances of the shooting.
