Man wounded in Norwalk shooting

NORWALK >> A Norwalk man was hospitalized in critical-but-stable condition after he was shot multiple times during an argument outside a Norwalk strip mall Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The shooting took place about 1:55 p.m. in the 15000 block of Pioneer Boulevard, just south of Excelsior Drive, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Robin Limon said.
The victim, a man in his mid-30s, became involved in an argument with another man, the lieutenant said. It was unclear what the dispute was about.
The argument escalated into a fight, and the attacker pulled a handgun and fired 10 rounds from a 9mm handgun, she said. The victim was struck multiple times in the torso and legs.
Paramedics took the wounded man to a hospital, where he was expected to survive his injuries.
The shooter was described as a Latino man in his 30s, last seen driving north on Pioneer Boulevard in a tan, four-door sedan, Limon said.
The motive was not immediately clear, however sheriff’s gang investigators were spearheading the investigation.
