PASADENA >> A man stabbed six other men, critically wounding two, at a house party in Pasadena early Saturday, authorities said.
Police jailed Aaron Hong Te, 21, of San Gabriel on suspicion of six counts of attempted murder in connection with the bloody melee, which unfolded just after 3 a.m. at a home in the 3100 block of California Boulevard, Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said.
“The investigation revealed that suspect Te bumped into someone at the party and a fight quickly erupted,” he said in a written statement. “During the fight, Te produced a knife and started to stab people who were standing close to him.”
Police responding to reports of the knife attack found Te in front of the home and took him into custody without a struggle, Mercado said. The knife believed to have been used in the stabbings was recovered.
Two 25-year-old Arcadia men were hospitalized in critical condition, the lieutenant said.
A 22-year-old Claremont man was hospitalized in serious condition, he said. A 22-year-old El Monte man, a 22-year-old Alhambra man and a 21-year-old San Jose man were in stable condition.
All of the victims were expected to survive.
Paramedics took Te to a hospital for examination of apparently minor injuries prior to booking him into jail, officials said.
According to Los Angeles county booking records, Te was being held in lieu of $2 million bail at the Pasadena City Jail pending his initial court appearance.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pasadena police Detective Lt. Jesse Carrillo at 626-744-4507.
