Man found shot to death in Azusa aqueduct identified


AZUSA >> Authorities on Thursday released the identity of a 47-year-old man who was found shot to death in an Azusa aqueduct earlier this week.
Alexander Alfredo Morales was found dead just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday along the bed of an aqueduct running along the west side of Sierra Madre Avenue,north of Todd Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner records. He was believed to be a transient who had recently been staying in a nearby encampment.
Morales had been shot several times in the “upper torso,” Sgt. Troy Ewing of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau said. It appeared his body had lied along shrubs and rocks in the bed of the aqueduct for several days before it was discovered.
No information regarding the killer or the motive was available.
