Missing Pasadena woman turns up in Joshua Tree National Park

PASADENA >> A Pasadena woman who went missing after visiting a Pasadena pharmacy on Tuesday was found dehydrated, but safe, in Joshua Tree National Park on Thursday, where she apparently drove after becoming disoriented, authorities said.
Constance “Connie” Sullivan was reported missing after failing to return home after a visit to a pharmacy in Pasadena on Tuesday afternoon, Pasadena police officials said in a written statement. She was last heard from when she called family to report she was lost.
Police managed to track her cell phone to a last known location in San Dimas before losing a signal, Lt. Jesse Carrillo said.
Sullivan continued driving and ended up in a remote part of Joshua Tree National Park, where her car became disabled Wednesday night.
Morongo Valley residents David Franco, 28, and Jennifer Thompson, 35, came upon the stranded woman while riding off-road vehicles about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the lieutenant.
“After a brief conversation, they realized Ms. Sullivan was somewhat disoriented and appeared to have suffered minor dehydration,” he said. “Ms. Thompson managed to obtain information from Ms. Sullivan that she was a resident of Pasadena.”
Pasadena police, as well as Sullivan’s family, were soon contacted. The missing woman was medically examined and reunited with her family.
No foul play was suspected in the disappearance, Carrillo said.
“Ms. Sullivan became confused and disoriented at the time she went missing,” he said.
Police thanked the community, and especially the two good Samaritans, for their concern for Sullivan’s safety.
