Police plan checkpoint tonight in Whittier

WHITTIER >> Police plan to hold a sobriety and driver license checkpoint in Whittier tonight.
The checkpoint will be held from 7:30 p.m. tonight through 3 a.m. Saturday at an undisclosed location within the city, Whittier police officials said in a written statement.
Over the past three years alone, Whittier police have investigated 246 DUI-related collisions, which resulted in four deaths and another 88 injuries, according to the statement.
Funding for the checkpoint is being provided by a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, through the California Office of Traffic Safety.
